LabHomecoming - The Pitch Video
In October 2023, I was selected to be a part of the Writers INK Feature Film Screenwriting Lab run by Anshulika Dubey and Gabrielle Kelly with an international faculty overseeing the classes.
Over four months, we were taken through the screenwriting process in an academic setting. I was honoured to have been mentored by Aviv Rubinstein, under whose guidance I was able to complete the first working draft for my screenplay, Homecoming.
don't tell mother
Don’t Tell Mother is a Kannada-language coming-of-age film written and directed by Anoop Lokkur. The story follows Aakash, a precocious and curious nine-year-old boy growing up in Bangalore in the 90s.
When his strict teacher canes and punishes him in front of his class, Aakash becomes withdrawn. He eventually realises the effect of the casual violence he sees around him when he takes his frustration out on his little brother, leading to serious consequences.
I was the chief assistant director on this film, helping the director through casting, pre-production, scheduling the shoot and running the set. The film is currently in the last stages of post-production.
kerosene digital
When Nishu Dikshit approached me about using one of my monologues for Kerosene Digital’s Cafe Theatre series, I was completely sold for one simple reason: she loved the script.
This performance piece is close to my heart, particularly due to Nishu’s command on-screen and her easygoing charm.
